1. What are your feelings on scholastic selling non-book items to children in schools?
** i dont think its completly right because i think they should be focusing more on "School" related products. Then again i dont see anything wrong with it because they are just trying to promote like anyone else would.
2. Is this ethical?
** i dont see how it would be unethical. They are just doing what anyother company would do. They are promoting.
3. If you were a parent would this bother you?
** no not really, its just games to lip-gloss. It's not that bad they need to just deal with it. it would bother me.
4. If you were scholastic, would you change your item list?
**if sales went down then yes i would, if not there is no reason to.

...M&M Kart racing for Wii? I think i might have to further investigate this game...
ReplyDeleteI do agree that they need to sell school related products. and if i were a parent a probably wouldnt give my child as much money to spend at the book fair as i would have before because they would most likely spend it on non-book items
ReplyDeleteWell, the company is trying to survive in the world and so the only thing that they can do is promote stuff that the children would like the buy and not books. I still think that they should still sell books to children that would rather read than get stuff that they don't need.
ReplyDeleteI just think that this leaves a wide opening for Scholastic to lose focus on whats really important. Not selling, but getting kids to read.
