1. Changing an iconic name like gatorade that has been successful over the years
* i dont think that it is a good idea becuase it dosn't seem to me the people like it. I think that this could really hurt the gatorade industry because they could lose sales. I think they should of just left it alone because i know the sales before when it was called gatorade were really good. they were sold everywhere and everygthing was okay. Why the decide to change the name now i have no idea.
2. Do you think it could work?
* No i dont think it would work because the people seem alittle mad, and i dont think they are going to give them any kind of sales because of it. I dont think it's right for the people who made "gatorade" it's taking away their pride in what they had to do with it, and they arent living now to have a say so about it, but people are not happy with it.
3. Do you think it will have an overall effect on the consumption of Gatorade?
* Gatorade is still gatorade no matter what the name is, the taste is always going to be the same. The people just arent going to give them much sales. People are most definantly not happy with it and are not going to give them much respect anymore.
4. What could have spawned this sort of change in marketing? ex.losing business, younger crowds, etc.
* I really dont know, maybe they just wanted to make the name different.
- where they tired of hearing "gatorade", we will never know. All we know is noone likes it(:

When the Gatorade came out the sales were really good and they still are, and when the new drink comes out i don't think that the sales would be any good, because most people probably would not like it because of the taste and on how it looks.
ReplyDeleteI think today's econonmy has caused this change in marketing. Sales are low everywhere so many companys are trying to advertise more. Gatorade is just taking the wrong steps to advertise. They are causing more of a controversy. But they could also being doing this because they know this would draw attention to their products.
ReplyDeleteI think that your right. Not only do alot of the consumers not agree with it, but im sure the original developers wouldn't either.
ReplyDeleteMost people won't care about what the outside looks. And you are right about most of the information in your questions.
