Myrtle Beach
officials are still encouraging tourist to still visit because the fire is only affecting a small portion of north myrtle beach. It's affecting travel to NORTH Myrtle beach but not the other parts. "The fire is limited to a small area of the Grand Strand. The National Guard is on site to assist. We do not expect this to affect tourism in the long or short term," said Brad Dean, President and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, "We are pleased to report that everyone is safe thanks to efforts by emergency personnel."

In today's web world, one thing is clear. Content is still king. Writing the right kind of content and disturbing that content, also known as article marketing, can help you establish yourself as an expert and improve your online marketing results.
Getting started with article marketing is easy to do and can pay huge dividends. Many individuals use article marketing to improve search engine rankings, to inform, or to pitch products and services they sell. Regardless of your purpose, consider using article marketing as a great way to build a loyal following.
The proliferation of information online has brought with it varying degrees of content. Some content is valid, other content is purely fictional. When you write, be sure to provide references, examples, or quote data from other sources. This helps to build credibility and informs your audience that your content can be trusted. For your article marketing to be effective, follow these guidelines:
Research your niche. Before you begin any writing whatsoever, start by finding a niche that is popular and that you feel you can write about. It should be something you enjoy. If you are not interested in a particular area, it will be difficult to enjoy the process of writing articles.
Create a plan. Are you going to write one article per week or one each day? Think about how much time and energy you want to put into your article writing and for what purpose. If you simply want to write and publish your work, you may only want to do a little bit each day. Once you have a complete work, then you would submit to websites or blogs. On the other hand, if you are looking for improved rankings or sales from your article marketing, your publishing schedule may need to be more aggressive.
Write your article. Write and article on your subject that includes the specific keywords you seek to optimize for. Your article should be between four to seven hundred words. It all depends on the intent and purpose of the article. After you write your article make sure you proof it for spelling and grammatical errors.
Submit your article to article directories. This is a great way to get your information published quickly and easily. Register with an article directory like Ezinearticles or GoArticles. By doing so, you will have a place to submit your articles and build an author profile. Webmasters use these article directories to find content for their website. Additionally, article directories give you added exposure in a given topic area.
Article marketing has many benefits. The most important aspect of article marketing, in my opinion is to clearly understand what you want to use it for, building a plan, and consistently creating and distributing content. This is essential for long term success.
i just think everyone should know how to article market things, very useful source

1. Will the new management be successful with the new theme?
*I think it will, Alot of people went to Hardrock park they just didnt have enough money to keep it open. They overdid themselves but i think now it will be very successful
2. What are some things you would add to the theme park if you were the new management?
*i would add a water park since it is at the beach, alot of rides, restrauents, food venders, live music.
3. How will the economy effect tourism to this theme park if it isn't associated with Hard Rock?
I dont think that the name hard rock has anything to do with who comes there. I think that it shouldnt cost 60 dollars to get in, but i dont think tourism will go down.

Do consumers really base their purchasing decisions on price? That's a common question I'm often asked. Truth is that price plays a part in the consumer evaluation of a purchase, but it is not the end all be all. Consumers evaluate experience, quality and price.
You must create an experience that makes a consumer want to purchase from you. You can draw some consumers strictly on price, but the problem with that is they will leave you if someone offers them a lower price, is that really the loyalty that you want to attract?
When you create an experience and you give consumers exceptional service you will gain committed loyalty from consumers. This is the loyalty that will keep consumers coming back to you, even if you don't have the lowest price.
With that being said, I know that many companies struggle with price setting. How do you know if you've set the right price for your product? Great question, in this week's article we discuss the promise of price and how you can set and get the right price for your product or service.
-very interesting because i think that poeple do bese their purchasing decision on Price

Marketing
Basically, you might look at marketing as the wide range of activities involved in making sure that you're continuing to meet the needs of your customers and are getting appropriate value in return. Think about marketing as "inbound" and "outbound" marketing. (In the following, consider "product" to be either a tangible product or a service -- nonprofits often refer to these as "programs".)
Inbound Marketing Includes Market Research to Find Out:
What specific groups of potential customers/clients (markets) might have which specific needs (nonprofits often already have a very clear community need in mind when starting out with a new program -- however, the emerging practice of nonprofit business development, or earned income development, often starts by researching a broad group of clients to identify new opportunities for programs)
How those needs might be met for each group (or target market), which suggests how a product might be designed to meet the need (nonprofits might think in terms of outcomes, or changes, to accomplish among the groups of clients in order to meet the needs)
How each of the target markets might choose to access the product, etc. (its "packaging")
How much the customers/clients might be willing pay and how (pricing analysis)
Who the competitors are (competitor analysis)
How to design and describe the product such that customers/clients will buy from the organization, rather than from its competitors (its unique value proposition)
How the product should be identified -- its personality -- to be most identifiable (its naming and branding)
Outbound Marketing Includes:
Advertising and promotions (focused on the product)
Sales
Public and media relations (focused on the entire organization)
Customer service
Customer satisfaction
Too often, people jump right to the outbound marketing. As a result, they often end up trying to push products onto people who really don't want the products at all. Effective inbound marketing often results in much more effective -- and less difficult -- outbound marketing and sales.
________
i find this fairly interesting because it explains how the term Marketing is commonly misused

risk//industry//Friday!
1. Research the three types of risk (economic, natural, and human) Writing down what each part represents and give an example.
*an economic risk Is the danger that an economy could against your investment., and example would be a real estate company in a preiod of high intrest rates.
*a natural risk is probablitly of harm to human health, property, or the invironment posed by an aspect of the physical world other than any human, and an example would be living in the bahamas knowing there will be huricans, your taking a "Natural being the hurican" risk.
*a human risk is the degree of likelihood that one or more exposures to a hazardous substance may have damaged or will damage the health of the exposed person(s) and an example would be going to "The Hood" knowing you could get shot") haha,
2. How do they protect against each risk from the aspect of a business owner or entrepreneur.
*economicaly you could make sure the economy dosn't or couldn't affect you in any way, so you could change that if you knew it could before hand. Naturaly make sure your business is not in a place that it could get harmed make sure its safe, and humanicaly make sure your employees are trained on the equipment so they dont get hurt.
3. Have them find the website for About Retail Industry. It is part of the About.com network.

a. How much money per year do businesses lose through theft and employee error
* 10 to 150 billion dollars a year
b. What is the majority age of shoplifters
* 17 and younger
c. What is the average theft amount per incident
*$200.00
d. What is source tagging
*Source tagging is the embedding of disposable RF security labels at either the point of manufacture or packaging.
e. What are the three major retailers that are using source tagging
*Pep boys, Food Lion, and ADT
f. Find another article on retail theft and name it. Also, write a short paragraph summary of the article illustrating the main points.
* "
LAKELAND Law enforcement arrest teams throughout Central Florida today served five search warrants and arrested up to 18 people related to a multi-million dollar retail theft ring and fencing operation involving health, beauty and cosmetic products and over-the-counter medicines, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Each of the suspects is being charged with one count of felony racketeering, which carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison, and one count of felony conspiracy to commit racketeering, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
“What started as a simple shoplifting investigation turned into the discovery of a far flung criminal conspiracy that counted on common street criminals to steal millions of dollars of merchandise to supply other criminals selling on the Internet and in flea markets. Because of our talented investigators and team work with multiple agencies, these thieves and criminal resellers will be going away to prison for a long, long time,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.
The arrests come at the end of a seven-month long investigation that began June 26 when Rita Maddox, currently in the Hillsborough County Jail, and Elisha Cordle of Dover were arrested by Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies for stealing about $4,500 in merchandise, mainly Oil of Olay products, from the Shepherd Road Publix in Lakeland, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The initial investigation into the retail theft revealed that the suspects were part of a larger organized criminal enterprise that operated in multiple jurisdictions.
The investigation further uncovered that the theft and fencing operation had been operating for about five years and is linked to retail loss statewide, the Sheriff's Office said. "

entrepreneurship

If i were to open my own business it would have to be a clothing company. Something for teenagers, not too trashy and not too grandma-ish. Something for the nowaday fashion. My target market would be teenagers to early twenties, both boys and girls. Probably ranging in age from 14-24. I would Sale School Cloths since most teenagers and twenties are in school/college. I would also sale like weekend cloths. Something you could go party in or go to the club in. We all know teenagers like to do that! I would use a really good market plan. Make fliars, or higher someone to make them for you. It all depends on the time of year, whether its springs, summer, winter, or fall. Depending on how i would make them. I would Probably do a fashion show. At the store to save money and invite people to come see what we have to offer.

1. What are your feelings on scholastic selling non-book items to children in schools?

** no not really, its just games to lip-gloss. It's not that bad they need to just deal with it. it would bother me.
4. If you were scholastic, would you change your item list?

Managment(:
As many big companies are announcing mass layoffs, these 20 top employers have at least 350 openings each right now.
*Edward Jones

*Cisco Systems
*Genetech
*Methodist Hospital System
*Whole Foods Market
*Microsoft

With these jobs haveing about 350 jobs each and there are 20 employers so that is about 7,000 jobs. I just think thats crazy, and amazing ! good luck to people getting jobs now(:

- I personally think that it is really ridiculous and no since to do that at all. But if you have the money to watch go down the drain than "GO FOR IT" !
2. If you were a business owner or CEO would you spend this type of money to advertise?
- Nope i would not, i think that i could find some other or atleast a cheaper way to advertise during the super bowl. you could make your logo or something pop up for one second and be 100,000 dollars(:
3. Do you think that the Super Bowl could bring a company that much more business than other times?
-yes because there are alot of people watching the super bowl. that is pretty much the biggest football game so yes i think it would bring them THAT much more business.
4. If you didn't advertise during the Super Bowl, what event would you focus most of campaign on?
-probably another one of the big games. I'm not sure which one but it has to be one cheaper !
5. Would this be a great place to spring board a campaign?
-yes, if you are willing to spend the money !

Coca-Cola Co. plans to launch new marketing campaign on 'American Idol'
1.What are your thoughts about Coca-Cola's new marketing campaign to push people back towards softdrinks?
* I think its a really good idea, that like they are making bottles of america's favorite drinks and making them only 99 cents. I think that their sales will go up alot just becuase of that. the economy is really bad so the cheaper the prices the more people are going to buy., Also the fact that it's going to be during American Idol is good because it has alot of veiwers young and old(:
2. Do you think it will be successful?
*I do in a since that because from what the article said, Pepsi raised prices and Coca-Cola lowerd prices. Also coke has alot of young popular singers promoting so that would help the teen/young adult category.
3. Will the new bottle and lower price be enough to attract customers back to softdrinks?
*I think it will in the since that the economy is really bad, so the lower the prices the more sales they are going to get. Also it's a littler bottle so it uses less plastic so that could be another good reason for "Recycling people" would purchase.
4. Do celebrity spokespersons really help sell goods or services? will it work here?
*They will help sale if the people they are trying to sale to are younger, or even older people who know who they are. Yes i do think it would work here, alot of younger people are going to gas station's and purchasing things like that ! like on the way to work, school, or anytime !

G Vs. Gatorade
1. Changing an iconic name like gatorade that has been successful over the years
* i dont think that it is a good idea becuase it dosn't seem to me the people like it. I think that this could really hurt the gatorade industry because they could lose sales. I think they should of just left it alone because i know the sales before when it was called gatorade were really good. they were sold everywhere and everygthing was okay. Why the decide to change the name now i have no idea.
2. Do you think it could work?
* No i dont think it would work because the people seem alittle mad, and i dont think they are going to give them any kind of sales because of it. I dont think it's right for the people who made "gatorade" it's taking away their pride in what they had to do with it, and they arent living now to have a say so about it, but people are not happy with it.
3. Do you think it will have an overall effect on the consumption of Gatorade?
* Gatorade is still gatorade no matter what the name is, the taste is always going to be the same. The people just arent going to give them much sales. People are most definantly not happy with it and are not going to give them much respect anymore.
4. What could have spawned this sort of change in marketing? ex.losing business, younger crowds, etc.
* I really dont know, maybe they just wanted to make the name different.
- where they tired of hearing "gatorade", we will never know. All we know is noone likes it(:
